Dosage and Warnings

For oral administration. Shake well before use. Adults and children 12 years and over: Take 10-20ml (two to four 5ml spoonfuls) after meals and at bedtime, up to four times a day. Children under 12 years: Should be given only on medical advice. Always read the label before taking this medicine.

Gaviscon is made using all-natural seaweed and is perfectly safe for many to take. Most people who take Gaviscon do not experience any side effects. If you do experience any side effects they are highly likely to be mild and will go away when you stop taking Gaviscon.

You are more at risk of experiencing these symptoms if you take too many Gaviscon chewables.

If you ever forget to take a dose of Gaviscon, do not double the dose next time. Just carry on taking the medicine at the recommended dose. If symptoms persist after seven days, always consult your doctor. If you take too much Gaviscon it is unlikely to cause you any harm although you may feel bloated. Consult your doctor or pharmacist if this feeling does not go away.
